Everything a Nepali mother packs when you travel for two days
For a trip of two nights.
- Food for four days.
- A second bag of food, in case the first bag is somehow not food.
- Boiled eggs. Always. The quantity is not negotiable and does not scale with trip length.
- A water bottle you already own, refilled, because the one you packed is “not the good one”.
- Medicine for nine conditions you do not have.
- A warm layer for a place that is warmer than here.
- An umbrella, in any season, on any forecast.
- A carrier bag folded inside another carrier bag, to bring things back in.
- Instructions, delivered at the gate, at a speed that makes note-taking impossible.
You will eat all of it. You will still be asked, on arrival, whether you have eaten.
